 MobileIRIS™ 1.9.1                  Available Now!

The IRIS system enables responders to collect and transmit critical patient and incident information directly from the scene via specialized hand-held computers. This innovative solution allows all users, including: first responders, hospital staff, and emergency coordinators, timely access to the critical patient data they require.

The MobileIRIS™ system saves lives by improving the communication between field personnel and coordinators to more effectively deploy resources, ensure critical patients get the attention they require, and track each victim in a single, shared system.

Recent catastrophic events have exposed a glaring "missing link" in disaster scene management: PATIENT TRACKING. Hospital staff are often the last to know the details of the incident scene, until the patients begin to roll through their doors. Without advance information, there is little time available to gather the necessary resources or locate specialized equipment and personnel until after the patients have arrived. With MobileIRIS™ technology, the hospital can know the condition of the patients, and even see images of the injuries long before they arrive in the emergency room for treatment.

IRIS also tracks survivors and the "walking wounded," ultimately helping to reunite missing relatives and loved ones, without tying up valuable resources needed at the scene of the disaster. Without a shared information platform that can be used by all agencies responding to the disaster, there is no readily accessible means to get this information.

Emergency radios and cellular voice communications can be rendered useless during disaster situations as different agencies use a variety of systems, and may not be able to reach the incident command personnel. The MobileIRIS™ technology allows first responders (Emergency Medical Personnel, Search & Rescue, and Firefighters) to easily transmit the scene information to the entire response team and focus their energies where they are needed most: scene assessment and patient care.

Everyone involved in the incident can access the information through a variety of channels, reinforcing the fault-tolerant backbone of the system. IRIS is extremely intuitive and requires very little training to deploy. First-time users are ready to begin entering data and tracking patients within just a few minutes of getting the unit in their hands.

Developing a technology that can perform even in the most demanding environments requires that it adapt to the unthinkable conditions. The IRIS technology has been carefully designed to perform in the event that the usual communication methods are unavailable due to system-wide power outages, infrastructure damage, etc.

The MobileIRIS platform is powered by Microsoft PocketPC 2003. Behind the scenes, the IRIS network runs on a family of dedicated database servers, strategically located in secure data centers throughout the North America. Iomedex Corporation uses only Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in its backend data management.
